Artist of all Ages:

Life drags you where and how you never know! My work has got me into Aurangabad city. A city with rich historical  significance.
I hear a lot of people complaining about the city. But I feel proud. Proud of being in a city where people from all over the world come to witness the greatness of Art.
Civilization has dragged us so far into a modern era of sophisticated gadgets and complicated life style, yet art has been a part of it throughout.  And people still appreciate that ancient art, carved on stones inside cages, and done ages ago.
Modern art is so refined, yet why do people from all over the world come to see these huge sculptures on big stones?? May be art cannot be ancient. May be art cannot be modern too. It is just different forms of it.
Recently when I visited Ellora caves , I was mesmerized by its beauty. The sculptures, the construction of building on the stones and the paintings through everything I could see only ART. Not that I had not seen it before or anything like it before but every time I see these caves I feel something. Something like I have entered into a different era, through the pages of some ancient history book. I imagine those artists working at it. And I see a similarity, a striking similarity- between them and artists of all times. They are all artists. Artists of different types – Some are architects who made the cave building, some are sculptors who carved on the stones and some are painter who painted. But whatever they did – they did it like Meditation, being one with their work, like losing themselves into it. Just like yogis.
And they could do so because, as I love to believe, they were not doing it for any purpose, not for money, not for exchange of anything but for the Love of Art. It is a fancy of an artist to be able to be Free – FREEDOM from boundaries of purpose. And these Artists were able to perform their skills without the inconvenience of earning food, water and shelter. (and complicated gadgets too. Well, that could have made their work simpler though.)

  2. Wonderful description of an artist. Actually i should say an artist is the most selfless person on this earth as he or she just worships his or her work without having any expectations out of it. Actually creativity has no boundaries or terms and conditions. You just pour your heart out through your art, starting with perhaps just an intention to kill time or as a hobby, and slowly you delve deeper and discover the actual meaning of what you have created and that meaning is then conveyed to the world in the form of such historic monuments and carvings
